Evening friends! Tonight we share one of the outstanding producers of red wines in Washington State. But did you know that they also make a world-class Chardonnay? Passing Time was founded by NFL legends Dan Marino and Damon Huard, utilizing the talents of famed winemaker Chris Peterson. This is clearly one of the state’s most electric wine brands. The wines have been amazing since their first 2012 vintage with Chris Peterson at the helm. Peterson was the first graduate of the Walla Walla Community College’s Enology and Viticulture program and working at DeLille for eight years under legendary winemaker Chris Upchurch. He makes some incredible wines for Passing Time.
I love the new 2024 Passing Time ‘Columbia Valley’ Chardonnay (OB, 95) which is dense, viscous and filled with concentration. Learn more about this fantastic boutique winery at http://www.passingtime.com Here is my reviews of the new Passing Time wines. And GO DAWGS!
2024 Passing Time ‘Columbia Valley’ Chardonnay- The 2024 ‘Columbia Valley’ by Passing Time comes from the Weinbau and Connor Lee as well as the Spanish Castle, Boushey and Frenchman Hills Vineyards. Stored in 60% new French oak, this comes off unctuous and round on the mouth, with a silky mouthfeel. The palate is dense and viscous with lemon rind dusted shortbread, banana, mango and suggestions of Japanese pear on the palate. Showing gobs of salty minerals, with glorious length and verve, this beauty will sure live on for another eight to ten years. Drink 2025-2033- 95
